About Video Discussion Kits

What is a Video Discussion Kit?
Our Video Discussion Kits are all-inclusive, digital leadership training resources, created for team leaders who want to host meaningful leadership conversations with their teams. All of our Video Discussion Kits are packaged in a PDF. Everything is digital. We chose this format to make it easy for people to download instantly. The presentation deck is already built as a full-screen PDF with embedded video. This format is easily updateable and environmentally friendly.

Checkout & Download

How do I create an account? I only see options to log in or checkout as guest.
Continue checkout as a guest. At the end of the checkout process, you will be given the option to create an account. Creating an account saves your customer information, but not your credit card #. This makes future checkouts faster and easier for you.

Where do I add my discount code?
After filling out your name and contact info, click continue to next step, and add your discount before adding your credit card info. The price will be reduced according to your specific discount code. Don't have a discount code? Sign up to receive promotions and discount codes by email.

How will I receive my purchase?
All our products are digital and downloadable. After completing the checkout process, you will immediately receive two emails to the email address you provided during checkout. One of the emails contains a link to instantly begin the download.

Why is the download taking so long?
Since the downloadable file contains high-quality video, the download process can take some time. Download time may vary. To help speed things up:
(1) Close unneeded programs and processes on your computer.
(2) Connect to the internet through an Ethernet cord, rather than through wireless.

My download finished. Where did it go?
It probably went to your downloads folder. If you're running a Microsoft Windows operating system, check here (C:\users\your name\downloads). If you are running a Mac operating system on an Apple device, you'll want to check your downloads folder as well (/Users/your name/Downloads). If you still can't find your download (or the folder), open the "preferences" or "tools" menu for your internet browser. Most browsers will have a "General" tab in preferences/tools with details about where the browser directs your downloads.

Slide Deck

Why won't the PDF open?
You will need version 9 or later of Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) or Adobe Acrobat Pro, in order to open the PDF files correctly. If your computer doesn't have this software, or it is older than version 9, download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader for free.

Why won't the video play in the Slide Deck PDF?
Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat Pro) version 9 or later is required to play the embedded video. When opening the PDF in versions earlier than 9, an error message will display allowing you to open the PDF, but the video will not play. Clicking "play" will advance to the next slide without playing the video.

Download the latest version of Adobe Reader for free.

If after updating to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader the video still won't play, be sure you have opened the PDF in the updated version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may also have Adobe Acrobat Pro (not a free update) installed on your computer and have it set as the default PDF viewer. Open the ZIP file containing the Slide Deck PDF. Move the file(s) to the desktop. Open the updated Acrobat Reader. File > Open to locate Slide Deck file on desktop.

If the video is paused and you don't see the play button, hover the cursor over the video space. Press play.

Why does the video keep playing when I advance to the next slide?
If the video didn't reach its end, it will continue to play when you advance to the next slide. Hover the cursor over the video space to pause the video, and then advance to the next slide.

Why can't I advance to the next slide after watching the video?
Click the arrow at the bottom of the slide. Then use your mouse, remote control, or keyboard arrow keys to advance to the next slide.

Why is the video playing slow or take a long time to start playing?
The slide deck file and embedded video are large files (the best things come in large packages). First, make sure the slide deck file is saved locally (like on the desktop) on the computer you are presenting from, not running off a network, external hard drive, or USB drive. Playing the video from anywhere other than the computer's local hard drive will slow down the playback speed. Second, quit or close other applications that may be contributing to the lagging performance. Lastly, and we know you don't want to hear this, try restarting your computer.

Licenses/Use

Why are some videos on the website not to be used for training?
Video Discussion Kits for sale offer a free full-length preview right on the website. This preview is not to be used for training purposes, but only for you as the purchaser, to decide if the video content is right for your team. Training should only be done with the downloaded video once it is purchased.

Which videos can be used for training without purchase?
Many free videos are available on our website. Please feel free to show and distribute these streaming videos for all personal or work-related use. They are currently available as "stream only" but we are more than happy to share the video files with you. Just email us at support@soderquist.org to request any free video for download.

How many people can use a Video Discussion Kit?
Soderquist Center Video Discussion Kits for sale are only to be used as described on our website. For example, a kit purchased for $99 to be used in training for "up to 15 participants" may not be shown to, or used in any way by, more than 15 participants.

Multiple price and quantity options are available through our online store, and we offer custom cost-per-participant pricing for quantity use not available online. Contact us at 866.752.7180 or support@soderquist.org to learn more or place a custom cost-per-participant order.
